Why Should You Take This Lead Supervisor/Inspector/Risk Assessor Continuing Education Course?

Your California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Supervisor or Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor license must be renewed every year. Maintain your certification by completing at least 7 hours of CDPH-approved lead-related construction Continuing Education every two years. Additionally, any one Continuing Education class can only be used for a maximum of two renewals. You should complete your Continuing Education before applying to CDPH for renewal.

Please Note:  This renewal course can be used for Supervisors, Workers, Inspectors, Risk Assessors, and Sampling Technicians

Renewal Deadlines:  You must apply to CDPH for renewal at least 120 calendar days before your certificate expires. If you do not apply in time, your certificate may expire before CDPH can renew it. There are no extensions and CDPH can not expedite processing any renewals. Please take this into consideration when scheduling your Continuing Education.

Renewing an Expired Certificate:  If it has been less than 3 years since your certificate expired, you may renew it by completing 7 contact hours of CDPH-approved Continuing Education and sending CDPH a renewal application with the correct fee(s). When you renew an expired certificate, you will receive a new expiration date. Expiration dates are now based on your birth date. Your certificate ID number will stay the same. Remember, you may not do work requiring CDPH certification if your certificate has expired.

Renewing Early:  CDPH encourages you to apply for renewal at least 120 days before your certificate expires. This will ensure that your certificate is renewed before it expires. You will not lose time on your certificate by applying early for renewal. Each time you renew your certificate, CDPH adds 1 full year to the certificate's expiration. If you wait until your certificate expires, you will not gain any additional time.

Renewing of Interim Certifications:  If you have an expired Inspector/Assessor, Supervisor, Project Monitor and/or Project Designer interim certificate, you will have to take the original training over again, and pass the appropriate California Lead Certification Exam(s) before your certificate(s) can be renewed.

You should complete your Continuing Education before applying to CDPH for renewal, so sign up for your Continuing Education course today!

Course Completion Documentation - A CDPH Course Completion Form and a certificate documenting attendance of the Lead Supervisor, Inspector/Risk Assessors course is awarded if you attend and pass the written examination. Full attendance is mandatory.

The instructor, Memo, really knows the subject well and was able to answer all questions the attendees had. His instruction style was excellent and he kept the pace moving. I would definitely recommend this class and the instructor to anyone.

Al Dages provided an excellent refresher to all of us in the room, I was thinking I would have difficulty with learning the California regulations well enough to take the exam. I let Al know that I am very familiar with Washington State rules and have some concern that I might not do so well without him knowing that. Turns out I did well, and would like to let Al know I enjoyed his course.

He made the challenge of taking a continuing education course fun for me. Without a full knowledge of the peculiarities of California regulations, I gained enough from his course to do well on the exam. Classroom, and handson exercises were very good, and they helped me to recall much of my previous training. Job well done John!
