This 2-hour on-demand Asbestos Awareness (Class IV) Online course is designed for custodial, maintenance, and skilled trade professionals whose work may bring them in contact with asbestos-containing materials. Students will learn how to recognize asbestos-containing materials on the jobsite, as well as best practices for handling and removing these materials in the course of their custodial duties.
Asbestos is commonly found in structures as insulation. It is a well-known health hazard that has been banned in several countries. Inhalation of asbestos fibers can lead to several serious medical conditions such as pneumonia, asbestosis, and cancer. As a result, OSHA requires specialized training for anyone who may come into contact with asbestos during their work activities.
