Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to identify where asbestos containing materials are commonly found, know requirements for signs and labels where asbestos hazard areas exist, be familiar with circumstances where employees may risk asbestos exposure, describe safety measures to protect against exposure, identify illnesses and describe the medical program required by OSHA.
Intended Audience: This course has been built and developed to adhere to the OSHA construction standard for asbestos safety 29 CFR 1926.1101, and applies to those working in demolition involving asbestos containing materials (ACM), removing or encapsulating, constructing, repairing, maintaining or renovating ACM structures, installing asbestos-containing products, cleaning up asbestos spills, as well as transporting, storing, or disposing of asbestos containing materials.
