This Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Initial training course is for any individual who performs supervision of persons permitted to enter the restricted and regulated asbestos abatement work area. The supervisor is also responsible for performing the duties of the OSHA competent person for the asbestos project, consistent with current EPA and OSHA regulations.
An Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor must have completed this training, and have a valid certificate with them at all times while working on qualifying projects. This workshop prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors. It combines lectures, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations. Safe work practices, liability, and glove bag procedures are examined in detail.
Training for asbestos abatement professionals is required under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), which is the authority under which EPA issued the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan. This course has been granted full approval by the EPA and various States to meet AHERA and ASHARA accreditation requirements for asbestos work in K-12 schools, as well as in public and commercial buildings.

This was one of the most informational and interesting course I have taken. Not only is the credit given to the learning material but Tom instructed in such a fashion that made the material more fun, interesting, and got it to stick. Tom was able to connect with the entire class and made sure no one left confused or with any questions. Normally I dread taking my refreshers for my licenses but this is one I will look forward to. The class for Asbestos Supervisor was extremely informative. Our instructor presented the material in a way that was easily understood and had the entire class prepared for the test. The goal of our instructor was not just to ensure we all passed the test, but to make sure we understood the severity of the responsibility we would all carry now and the risks we could potentially put our workers and the public in by not strictly adhering to the regulations in place. Upon completion of the course, I was extremely confident that I was prepared for the test and scored very well. I now carry that confidence with me as I put what I have learned into practice. The Instructor for this class is one of the best instructors I've ever had with regards to learning, engaging, instructing and teaching in my 40yrs. He was very attentive to the students and his style of teaching was helpful in learning a foreign subject. He taught as one who loved what he does and not as job, so his passion was exuberant in every lesson.
