The NFPA 70E Arc Flash training is designed for qualified personnel who work on, around, or near any type of electrically energized equipment. Electrical hazards, proper electrical work practices and procedures, and the safe installation of electrical equipment will be discussed. As a result of going through the Arc Flash training course, participants will gain the knowledge necessary to protect themselves and coworkers on the dangers of Arc Flash.
Course topics include: a review of the OSHA training requirements; updated standards for maintenance requirements and administrative controls; risk and risk assessment procedures; electrical safety work practices; proper use of electrical meters and equipment; proper lock out/tag out procedures and documentation; energized work permits; PPE and proper clothing requirements; implementation of arc flash barrier set up; arc flash accident awareness; and emergency techniques to remove someone from an energized circuit.
