The Lead Abatement Worker Initial - Spanish course is designed to train individuals to safely address and remove lead-based paint hazards through containment and abatement measures. Professionals performing this type of work must be certified by the EPA or Authorized State, and must work under supervision of a certified Lead Abatement Contractor/Supervisor. This course is delivered in Spanish.


El curso está diseñado para capacitar a las personas para abordar y eliminar los peligros de pintura a base de plomo a través de medidas de contención y eliminación segura. Los profesionales que realizan este tipo de trabajo deben ser certificados por la EPA o estatal autorizado, y deben trabajar bajo la supervisión de un Mitigación del plomo Contratista / Supervisor certificado.

This course is provided by an accredited trainer that is approved by the necessary EPA and/or Authorized-State lead program, as required based on the course location.

It is the participant's responsibility to verify that the course they attend will be accepted in any other state(s) where you will be performing work, and to process any required paperwork that may be necessary.


What Are the Steps to Become a Certified Lead Worker?

  1. Complete a lead abatement worker certification course that is approved for the state in which the lead work will be performed.
  2. Submit the necessary paperwork to the EPA or Authorized State program with the appropriate fees.


EPA vs. Authorized-State Lead Programs

EPA controls the lead-based paint program for abatement, inspection, and risk assessment activities in the following jurisdictions: Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming; American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Marianas and Tribal Lands.

All other states have EPA-authorized lead-based paint programs.
