The Lead Abatement Worker Initial Spanish - Virtual course is designed to train individuals to safely address and remove lead-based paint hazards through containment and abatement measures. Professionals performing this type of work must be certified by the EPA or Authorized State, and must work under supervision of a certified Lead Abatement Contractor/Supervisor. This course is delivered in Spanish.
This class will be conducted as a live, instructor-led webinar during the dates and times listed on the registration EXCEPT for the last two days of class, when students will need to go to the onsite facility to complete the required hands-on and final exam. Students must be available for the full duration of the class dates and times listed. Onsite training will be limited in size and extra precautions will be taken for student and instructor safety.
How does Virtual Initial Training work?
1. Select your location where you will complete the hands-on training and exam.
2. Select the dates that work with your schedule
i) The first days will be conducted via an Instructor-led Webinar training.
ii) The LAST two days listed for the course will be the day you must go in to the training facility in-person to finish the course.
3. After registering, you will receive additional information by email for how to access the online training segments.
4. After successfully completing the last day in-person and passing the exam your training certificate will be issued.
Students should have a webcam or built in camera. Virtual training can be accessed via computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Please Note: This course is provided by an accredited trainer that is approved by the necessary EPA and/or Authorized-State lead program, as required based on the course location. It is the participant's responsibility to verify that the course they attend will be accepted in any other state(s) where you will be performing work, and to process any required paperwork that may be necessary.
What Are the Steps to Become a Certified Lead Worker?
Complete a lead abatement worker certification course that is approved for the state in which the lead work will be performed.
Submit the necessary paperwork to the EPA or Authorized State program with the appropriate fees.
EPA vs. Authorized-State Lead Programs
EPA controls the lead-based paint program for abatement, inspection, and risk assessment activities in the following jurisdictions: Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming; American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Marianas and Tribal Lands.
All other states have EPA-authorized lead-based paint programs.
