The purpose of this Fundamentals of Infection Control for the Healthcare Contractor course is to introduce and review the factors regarding Infection Control, emerging infectious diseases, air and waterborne pathogens, MRSA and exposure risks during construction for healthcare facilities.

This course addresses the serious issue of Infection Control Risk Assessment as it pertains to the professional working in the healthcare environment. Students learn about the various high risk quadrants in the hospital setting, vulnerable patient populations, and employee exposure risks during real work time. The professional develops an understanding of ICRA/PCRA/ILSM and how it affects their profession from a performance standpoint, meeting compliance requirements for the healthcare environment, client retention, and legal risk. It includes the updated requirements for wet OR’s, TJC and CMS new requirements for emergency preparedness, and bloodborne pathogens.

This course will also include updated best practices for the new COVID variants, types and transmissibility. We will review  recommendations for new safety measures to reduce exposure risks as mandated by CMS and other accrediting agencies for healthcare. The student will be better prepared and more knowledgeable about suspect areas and how to stay safe during real work time.

This 2 day workshop is the ONLY course in the USA written from the clinical perspective and provides actual case studies from the hospital perspective.
