This Mold in Construction safety course teaches construction professionals how to recognize mold in structures, as well as basic tips on mold control. Taught to standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Center for Disease Control, this class is useful for all workers and supervisors on construction sites.
Mold can occur whenever moisture levels are too high in a structure. Mold is known to cause human health issues such as allergies and asthma. It can also degrade the structural integrity of a building if it is left to grow. There are many stages of construction where moisture can seep into building if proper moisture control is not ensured. As a result, it's important for construction workers to have at least a basic knowledge of mold identification, mold control, moisture control, and an understanding of when to call a licensed mold professional.
Geared toward self-paced learning, this course is presented completely online.
Please note that this is an awareness level training and will not suffice for training required for mold remediation or inspection in licensing states.
