This 10-Hour Site Safety Training (SST) - Online course provides safety training in accordance with NYC DOB Local Law 196. This course is required by the New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) for all construction and demolition workers on job sites with a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator, or Site Safety Manager.
This online course consists of the 8-Hour Fall Prevention and 2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness classes. This course is provided online and on-demand; students may start and stop course modules as necessary. In order to earn credit for this course, students must complete all course modules and pass the final exam with a score of 70% or higher.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to receive their SST card.
Topics to be Covered: Fall Statistics in Construction; Types of Fall Hazards; Competent Persons; Fall Controls and Prevention Methods; Regulatory Requirements of Fall Controls; Ladder Safety; Scaffold Safety; Calculating Fall Distances; Rescue Plans; Health Effects of Drug and Alcohol; Substance Use Disorders; Drug and Alcohol Use in the Construction Industry; Recognition, Avoidance, and Prevention of Substance Abuse in the Workplace; Science of Addiction; Adverse Synergistic Effects.
