In this 2-Hour Tool Box Talks (SST-304) course, students will familiarize themselves with the concept of Tool Box Talks as a way to increase safety on a jobsite. This course is designed for NYC construction professionals seeking their Site Safety Training license.
Tool box talks are informal safety briefings performed by the Competent person on the jobsite; however, these safety briefings must follow certain regulatory requirements. This includes recordkeeping of talks. Furthermore, tool box talks must be structured in such a way to improve camaraderie, communication, and overall work culture. An effective tool box talk requires skills in adult learning styles.
Through interactive training, students will learn how to recognize and facilitate effective Tool Box Talks. At the end of the course, students must pass a multiple choice assessment. Upon successful completion, students will have earned a portion of their Site Safety Training requirements.
