As per NYC Local Law 52 of 2005, this 32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer/Remover course is required for workers installing, removing or modifying supported scaffolds over 40 feet on Construction Sites in New York City. Instructors will demonstrate safe methods of installation, removal and modification of different types of supported scaffolds using OSHA regulations, DOB standards and good work practice as a guide.

The outline of the class needs to be refined so there is a structure for the students to follow and to make sure that material is not missed. In this class there were 3 different instructors. It became obvious that each instructor did not know what the other ones were covering so things were missed. One of the instructors was present for 2 days and he was terrible. He did not communicate well. He did not seem to know the material well enough to be an instructor. He made statements that were inappropriate for an instructor of safety course. Luckily for me I do not work on scaffold regularly but I fear for the lives of the students who do and relied on this class to learn how to erect scaffolding safely.
