This 2-hour OSHA Fire Watch Maritime meets OSHA's shipyard fire protection standard and is designed to teach workers how to properly perform fire watch duties such as site appraisal, fire prevention, and monitoring during hot industrial operations. Fire watchers must be educated in the usage of fire extinguishing equipment and have it readily available. In the event of a fire, they should be conversant with the systems for raising the alarm. They must keep an eye out for flames in all exposed locations and attempt to extinguish them only when they are clearly within the capacity of the available equipment, or otherwise sound the alert.
