Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE) Online Courses

This Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE) course covers the components necessary for a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) to develop and maintain an IDDE Program. Designed to meet National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) standards, this course is one of six minimum control measures required to in the MS4 Phase II of the NPDES permit.

This course will teach students how to find sources of illicit discharge through inspection and sampling of both stormwater and non-stormwater outfall discharges. Students will also learn how to properly document and report illicit discharge activity, and the tools used to develop an effective IDDE program.

Geared toward flexible learning styles, this course is presented online. Upon successful completion of this online 2.5-hour program, students will receive a certificate of completion valid for one (1) year. This course can qualify for 2.5 Professional Developmental Hours.
