The 4-Hour Asbestos AHERA Designated Person course provides the requirements to the Designated Person in order to properly manage their school asbestos program. As mandated by the EPA's Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), all public and private schools must designate an asbestos-related person to oversee the school's asbestos program. To do this work effectively, the Designated Person needs to be trained on AHERA regulations.
Covered topics include basic information regarding asbestos, its effects on health, asbestos detection, identification, and assessment, asbestos control options, asbestos management systems, and asbestos and related safety necessities.
