This one day Grant Writing Basics course provides beginners with a solid foundation on how to write a grant proposal. Topics include efficient research methods, identifying appropriate funding sources, and writing a basic proposal. Participants will have the opportunity to write a mission statement, executive summary, and letter of intent for a project of their choice.

Class Details: The morning session is a PowerPoint lecture on research methods and resources, identification of appropriate funding sources, and discussion of students' grant writing goals.
The afternoon session is a hands-on training on developing a draft mission statement, executive summary, and letter of intent for their project.
The course agenda includes two fifteen minute breaks and an hour lunch.
Coffee is available throughout the day. Lunch is on your own - there are many lunch options within walking distance of the training center.

Principal Instructor Michelle Read DeGarmo has over 20 years experience developing successful grant applications for private, state, and federal funding sources. She and her staff work with private, municipal, and non-profit organizations throughout Upstate New York.
