Many people believe that the processes in place at their organization, agency or company can be improved, but aren't sure where to begin an improvement program. There is also the assumption that change has to come from the very top of the organization--the truth is, every group can enhance their productivity and satisfaction via implementation of a continuous improvement program, and can be viewed as a partner in their organization's long term success. These improvement methodologies also have the benefit of making offices and/or processes more environmentally sustainable.
Many companies from every industry are embracing Lean methodology popularized by Toyota. They are seeing reduction in operating costs, increases in customer satisfaction, and increased employee engagement. However, most of these companies do not realize that they can apply these same techniques to reduce their environmental impact related to water usage, air emissions, solid and hazardous waste and energy usage. This can help them reduce the risk of fines, reduce permitting fees, reduce operating and utility costs, attract and retain employees, and can open up new markets for growth and sales.
This 12-hour Lean and Green Introductory Certification webinar introduces attendees to methods of creating and implementing a process improvement program. In addition, individuals will be given the knowledge to move forward in their personal development with an accredited Lean certification. The Lean Competency System (LCS) is a lean qualifications framework created by the Lean Enterprise Research Centre at Cardiff University. The LCS framework has seven levels of competency which focus on lean knowledge and lean practice in the workplace. This course will prepare the user for the first level, 1a.
No prior experience in Lean or process improvement required for this course, but even experienced practitioners will find value in learning how to integrate “green” into the existing Lean framework.
