Leather Cleaning & Repair Specialist is a one-day webinar that teaches students how to clean, restore, preserve, and repair leather goods such as furniture, coats, handbags, shoes, belts and more! Students will gain familiarity with the different instruments and materials—such as cleaning solutions, brushes, cloths, and repair kits—used in professional leather cleaning and restoration. You can earn 7 IICRC CE credits by completing this course. This course does not have an exam; instead, students receive a Certificate of Achievement.
Students will be able to recognize the distinctive characteristics of every type of leather that influence the proper methods of cleaning and upkeep. Along with learning how to apply conditioners and protectants to restore moisture, stop cracking and guard against future damage, students will also learn how to identify common stains and how to remove them without causing more harm. In order to restore the sheen and texture of the material, students will learn how to repair minor tears and dings in leather as well as polish and apply finishes. Students will learned how to properly communicate with clients regarding the state of their leather goods, the services offered and how to take care of their leather goods at home by the end of this course.
