This 2-day Trauma Scene Management course is provided by the Academy of Textiles and Flooring and teaches students the industry guidelines for cleaning up trauma scene waste. Students will receive hands-on training with real equipment to learn how to safely dispose of hazardous organic waste such as blood, as well as chemicals typically present at trauma scenes such as teargas and drug residue. By the end of the course, students will receive the training necessary to work alongside law enforcement agencies to remediate trauma scenes.
The Trauma Scene Management course complies with OSHA's employer requirements for Bloodborne Pathogens Training. This course also complies with the California Medical Waste Management Act. Students will receive information in class on how to register with the State of California as a Trauma Scene Waste Management Practitioner.
Upon successful completion of the course and course exam, students will receive a certificate of completion and an OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certificate.
This course qualifies for twelve (12) IICRC Continuing Education Credits.
