This 12-Hour Wisconsin Energy Efficiency for Dwelling Contractors Continuing Education Online package includes 3 online HD-video courses equal to 12 credit hours of approved continued education: 3-Hour Key Construction Math Concepts, 3-Hour Business Responsibilities and 6-Hour Energy Efficient Building (see individual course descriptions below). Students will have six months of access to course content.
You are required to complete 12 hours of approved education every two years to keep your certification. You do not have to take all 12 hours in one course. Wisconsin sends out a renewal notice 4-6 weeks before your renewal date (which is 3 months prior to your expiration date).
Wisconsin Dwelling Contractors (Business License) must hold or employ someone who holds a Dwelling Contractor Qualifier Certification in order to obtain one or two-family dwelling building permits. In order to obtain this certification, you must complete a 12-hour initial qualifier course that has been approved by the Wisconsin Safety and Buildings Division. Also, after you obtain the Certification, you must complete an approved 12-hour Continued Education Course during each two-year period in order to remain certified.

3-Hour Key Construction Math Concepts:
This Three hour online MP3 course is a review of the key concepts of construction math
that every builder should understand. Basic math formulas and conversions are
introduced, followed by a fully narrated, interactive video tutorial of 40 common
construction problems.
This course is available online in MP3 format. Students log in, follow along with the
instructor, then take a short quiz at the end of the lesson. Students must get a passing
score of at least 70% in order to receive credit/certification for the course. Print your
certificate of completion at the end of the course.
3-Hour Business Responsibilities:
All contractors, whether sole proprietors, in a partnership, or incorporated, must be
aware of the business related requirements of their profession. This especially includes
tax laws, insurance responsibilities, and labor regulations. This three hour online course
focuses on the specific laws contractors in Wisconsin need to know in order to perform
the job according to the rules and regulations of both federal and state requirements.
This course is available online in full HD-video and printable format. Students log in,
watch each video, then take a short quiz at the end of each lesson. Students must get a
passing score of at least 70% in order to move from lesson to lesson and to receive
credit for the course. If you don’t get a passing score on the quiz, you are allowed to
review the course materials and take the quiz again. You cannot fail! Print your
certificate of completion at the end of the course.
6-Hour Energy Efficient Building:
This six hour online HD-video course will bring attention to methods of green building
that allows homes to have less impact on the environment, while providing a greater
