This online 6-Hour Weatherization and Renewable Energy course will teach students how to reduce building envelope failures and how to implement renewable energy products into their design to achieve sustainability and efficiency in projects.
Energy efficient structures must be efficient inside and out. Poor designs and wasteful energy systems can create costly projects that are damaging to the environment. As a result, developers who want to be competitive in the industry must be familiar with efficient designs in use today.
In the Weatherization portion of this course, students will learn the causes of building envelope failures. This course covers techniques to create building envelopes that outlast inclement weather.
In the Renewable Energy portion, students will get a comprehensive look at wind, solar and other sources of renewable energy on the market today. Students will learn how to incorporate these products into their design and which rebates and incentives are available to their clients.
Geared toward self-paced learning, this course is conveniently provided online. This course is approved for six (6) continuing education credits from the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors.
