This BPI Home Energy Professional (HEP) course is designed to teach energy professionals how to evaluate the efficiency, health and safety of residential properties. The Home Energy Professional is responsible for using diagnostic equipment and modeling software to identify areas for energy savings, as well as completing energy audits and developing an energy plan for clients.

Both homeowners and developers enjoy the low costs associated with energy efficient projects, and the reduced impact to the environment. Energy efficiency has become so important that some states are now passing legislation that requires all new homes to be energy efficient.

Note: Certified Home Energy Professionals must renew their certification every three (3) years. In order to be eligible for recertification, candidates must have a minimum of 24 CEUs over three years. Students with the required amount of CEUs take only the field exam with review. Students who do not meet the CEU requirements must take the written and field exam with review.
