A quality control inspector is a residential energy efficiency professional who ensures the completion, appropriateness, and quality of energy upgrade work by conducting a methodological audit/inspection of the building, performing safety and diagnostic tests, and observing the work.
Who Should Take this BPI Quality Control Inspector course?
BPI's Prerequisites for Quality Control Inspector Certification:
The two items below are required prior to taking the written and/or field certification exams:
1. Education: GED/high school diploma or equivalent education from another country
2. You must also obtain a minimum of 40 points from any combination of activities below:
Re-certification for QCI Certificate:
The certified Quality Control Inspector is required to renew their certification everythreeyears.
In order to be eligible for recertification, candidates must have accumulated a minimum of 24 qualifying* continuing education units (CEUs) over the three years of certification.
When the minimum CEU requirement is met, the candidate must successfully complete the field exam.
QCI candidates who do not meet the CEU requirements mustretake the written and field exam
All QCI candidates must re-attest to the Code of Ethics located in the Quality Control Inspector Certification Scheme Handbook (appendix B) to be eligible for recertification.
