Important: This training is the second phase in a two-phase process. You will need to complete the first phase separately and prior to taking this training course.
EnergyLogic is proud to announce a major evolution in the training of RESNET HERS Energy Raters. While online training isn't new, EnergyLogic has approached the challenge of training students for success and competence with a much more comprehensive approach than has been done in the past. The EnergyLogic eLearning environment recognizes the different learning styles of students and overcomes traditional classroom-only based training. Our approach advances the state of online learning in the industry by engaging students with a full spectrum of multi-media components, interactive lessons, quizzes, progress evaluations and live instructor interaction. Students learn together by working on a "class" project that is specifically designed to engage the skills that students will need to become successful and competent energy raters. Students will work through the EnergyLogic online system prior to attending live field training with our staff of highly trained, experienced and dedicated instructors.
The field portion of the HERS Rater Training is comprised of 3 days that are designed to give participants in-depth training on the processes of completing a home energy rating, as well as the diagnostic equipment that is required to complete the rating.
This is an instructor-facilitated course, and students will have one-on-one instruction with the testing equipment. Much of the field work will be done in a group setting where peer-to-peer interaction is used to complete the practice ratings. During the field training, you will complete two (2) practice ratings according to the RESNET training standard. Practice ratings will be performed on both an existing and new home. In addition, students will have an opportunity to complete a pre-drywall inspection. By the end of the course, each student will receive equipment certification for the Blower Door system and Duct Blaster system. This will be a one-on-one evaluation with an instructor to measure the students' competence with the testing equipment.
