Why Should You Take This Advanced GIS Techniques for Fisheries Data Management and Analysis Course?
This two day Advanced GIS Techniques for Fisheries Data Management and Analysis course is designed for intermediate to advanced GIS users to explore advanced ArcGIS techniques for management and analysis of fisheries and fish habitat data. The course will begin with an introduction of the High Resolution (1:24,000-scale resolution) National Hydrography Dataset (NHD). Participants will then learn the application of the ArcToolbox Linear Referencing and ArcHydro Tools for analysis of fisheries data using High Resolution NHD. Course time will be available for participants to have the valuable experience of building some simple fish habitat suitability models using ArcGIS Model Builder and ArcPy (Python for ArcGIS) scripting language to run Linear Referencing and ArcHydro tools.
