The purpose of this Fundamentals of Infection Control for the Healthcare Contractor course is to introduce and review the factors regarding Infection Control, emerging infectious diseases, air and waterborne pathogens, MRSA and exposure risks during construction for healthcare facilities. Critical updates for ICRA 2.0 will be reviewed.
This course addresses the serious issue of Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) as it pertains to the professional working in the healthcare environment. Students learn about the various high risk quadrants in the hospital setting, vulnerable patient populations, and employee exposure risks during real work time. The professional develops an understanding of ICRA/PCRA/ILSM and how it affects their profession from a performance standpoint, meeting compliance requirements for the healthcare environment, client retention, and legal risk. It includes the updated requirements for wet OR’s, TJC and CMS new requirements for emergency preparedness, and bloodborne pathogens.
This 2 day workshop is the ONLY course in the USA written from the clinical perspective and provides actual case studies from the hospital perspective.
This is the most comprehensive course which gives the student the CFHC Critical Facilities Health Care Accreditation which is renewed in two years. The Instructor is both an architect and a Registered Nurse which provides inside experience from the hospital perspective and teaches best practices for means and methodologies. The student learns how to recognize potential risk areas, the ICRA matrix and ways to implement safety, containment and barrier integrity that is required by the healthcare industry. It is THE most prestigious achievent for ICRA and is highly respected by the healthcare industry. The CFHC ICRA accreditation should be used when submitting qualifications for job bidding in healthcare and other industries if cross contamination is of concern.
At the end of the program, there will be a final course exam.
