Why Should You Attend This Core Concepts of Sustainable Community Planning webinar?
Communities worldwide experience ever increasing difficulties in remaining economically viable and highly livable. Constantly shifting weather patterns and major weather events, rising costs, diminishing resources and growth management are just a few of the many challenges they face on an ongoing basis.
In response to this situation, there has been a significant shift in how many communities are currently being planned, managed and serviced. This approach is generally referred to as Sustainable Community Planning (SCP). SCP is a comprehensive approach which recognizes external forces, issues and impacts, as well as internal or local factors in the determination of local solutions. It embraces a full spectrum of environmental, economic and social issues in order to arrive at the most resilient, adaptable, cost effective and livable community forms.
This highly illustrated live two-hour Core Concepts of Sustainable Community Planning webinar will outline the key themes of sustainability, their relationship and relevance to Sustainable Community Planning (SCP), SCP features and planning principles, as well as the Integrated Design Process with which they can be most effectively implemented. It will also explore how green buildings can be integrated as key infrastructure elements in any community plan. The course will provide illustrations and examples throughout, and will conclude with a series of brief national and international case studies of current sustainable community developments.
