Why Should You Take This Exemplary Performance for LEED NC Webinar?
Explore the exemplary performance options in the LEED for New Construction (NC) version 3.0 rating system in this 3-hour intermediate webinar. This course will look at exemplary performance as a way of exceeding the requirements of existing credits in the rating system, and will describe how the points can be collected through the Innovation in Design category of the rating system. Every exemplary performance option in the LEED NC rating system will be covered in this presentation.
Intended Audience: This is a 200-Level seminar taught to the level of an individual with no substantial knowledge of how the LEED for New Construction rating system is structured.
Upon completion of the seminar, a participant will be able to analyze the difference between Exemplary Performance opportunities and Innovation in Design application with the LEED for New Construction v3.0 rating system. They will be able to identify ways to collect exemplary performance points within each category of the rating system, and be able to compare the exemplary performance requirements of each credit in LEED NC and identify the compliance paths appropriate to each project. Lastly, students will analyze several case studies that have taken advantage of exemplary performance opportunities.
Students will be introduced to the topic of why USGBC structured the rating system in a way that allows for "bonus points" through exemplary performance. They will also gain a thorough understanding of the variety of exemplary performance options in the rating system. An emphasis will be placed on patterns common among exemplary performance options, such as doubling of thresholds, next incremental thresholds, and special case by case situations.
