Why Should You Take This LEED Project Management Course?
This new LEED Project Management course is for project managers/engineers, site managers/engineers, construction superintendents, green building consultants, sustainability field managers, property engineers, and owner representatives. This course is conducted on-line, which means you can attend from anywhere in the world. A new session starts every month.
Each session is a collection of four (4) on-line meetings. On-line meetings are scheduled on Tuesdays from 1:30pm EST - 3:30pm EST (New York Time). All meetings are recorded and posted to our on-demand portal so that students may watch them in the event that they miss the live meetings.
Topics To Be Covered Include:
Week 1- Kick Off Meeting
This session will concentrate on project management elements that fall under "Pre-design". Topics covered include: understanding project goals and scope (RFP) objectives, proposal development, organizing, facilitating and documenting a design charrette, LEED project registartion, joining a LEED project through LEED online, preparing design guidelines, OPR and LEED preliminary checklist
Week 2-Project Planning
This session will concentrate on project management elements that fall under "Planning /Design". Topics covered include: creating a project management tool, responsibility matrix, LEED WBS, LEED Design credits analysis, analyze energy models, LEED cost estimate, LEED man-hours, project schedule using MS project, Pre-certification or design submittals, incorporating LEED specifications in construction documents, understand commissioning requirements, prepare LEED checklist.
Week 3- Construction
This session will concentrate on project management elements that fall under "Execution/Construction". Topics covered include: LEED training for contractors, Preparing and implementing LEED plans such as construction waste management plan, construction activity pollution prevention plan, indoor air quality plan, preparing and analyzing "schedule of values" document, LEED Construction credit analysis, LEED submittal track, Update LEED Checklist
Week 4- Commissioning and Closing
This session will concentrate on project management elements that fall under "Commissioning and Closing". Topics covered include: Supporting a CXA for building commissioning, Understanding fundamental and enhanced commissioning, cost of commissioning, LEED progress meetings, assist with implementing LEED corrective action plan, LEED scope verification, LEED online submittal, GBCI review, LEED documentation, CIRs, Lessons learned, Project closeout.
