Want your building occupants to have a greater understanding of the green building features you designed and achieve an innovation credit? Attend this webinar to gain ideas on engaging occupants and visitors through green building education. Through visual examples from seven case studies of projects that earned a green building education innovation credit for LEED-NC or Schools, learn the opportunities and challenges of applying this strategy with a variety of budgets. While case studies for LEED-NC and LEED for Schools are examined, we will also discover how the applicability matrix of the LEED Interpretations and Addenda Database for this LI can be applied to LEED CI and EBOM rating systems.

• Utilize LEED Interpretation ID#3115 to create an innovation in design credit focused on Green Building Education.
• Specify the three educational elements of a Green Building Education innovation credit for LEED.
• Identify the process and players necessary for engaging occupants in an educational initiative.
• Describe the green building profiles, signage, and educational outreach of presented case studies.
• Apply ideas from presented LEED project case studies to raise awareness of green building.

Meet the Instructor:

Michelle Reott has been a consultant since 1992 and has focused on green building project management since 1995 and LEED project management since 2001. She became a LEED AP® in 2001 and earned her LEED AP® BD+C in 2009 and her LEED AP® ID+C in 2012. She has personally shepherded 11 projects to LEED certification and assisted on 10 other registered or certified projects (LEED-NC v2.0, v2.1, v2.2, and 2009 and LEED for Schools 2007 (v2.0)). She has utilized LEED for Existing Buildings v2.0,  LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance 2008 and 2009, LEED for Schools 2009, and LEED for Commercial Interiors v2.0 prerequisites and credits as innovation credits on other projects. Her firm, Earthly Ideas LLC, is a USGBC national member (since 2001) and she is a member of Colorado Chapter, New Mexico Chapter, and Cascadia. She has volunteered for the Colorado Chapter on the Advocacy Committee and recently served on the Chapter's Regionalization Task Force for LEED 2012/v4. Seven of the LEED certified projects Michelle has shepherded have successfully created and earned a Green Building Education innovation credit.
