Why Should You Take This Understanding LEED NC 2009 Course?

This workshop introduces the intent, key elements, main requirements and unique aspects of the Green Building Design and Construction (BD+C) LEED rating systems. Workshop participants will gain a solid understanding of the core concepts and strategies behind a successful green construction project. 

This course addresses the following LEED rating systems: New Construction and Major Renovations; Core and Shell; Schools; and touches on the future of Retail. This workshop is not a technical review of every credit. All credits will be addressed, but the intent is to teach the concepts and goals of these rating systems through understanding of the prerequisites, key credits, and synergies among the categories.

Course Goals include:

• Identify LEED BD+C minimum program requirements.
• Recognize unique aspects and differences between each LEED BD+C rating system.
• Identify the tools, intents, and requirements of prerequisites and key credits, and strategies to meet them.
• Identify synergies between LEED credits.
• Plan for key considerations and best practices for the LEED certification process.
