This 1-Hour Excavations SST-207 - Online is compliant with New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) standards for construction professionals seeking their Site Safety Training certificate. This course covers the basics of excavations, or the process of removing earth to create foundations and other underground structures.
Excavations are one of the most dangerous construction activities due to the risk of cave-ins, hazardous atmospheres, falling loads, and equipment hazards. It is extremely important for construction workers to be trained on how to safely perform this activity.
In order to perform construction on certain structures in the City of New York, the designated construction worker must complete a minimum number of approved site safety training hours. This will earn the worker a Site Safety Training (SST) card, which is required as per New York City Local Law 196. This course provides one hour of training toward the SST card.
This course is provided entirely online. Students must complete the entire course and pass the assessment with a score of 70% or higher in order to earn their certificate. This course is proctored with a facial biometric requirement; students must have a working audio and webcam system to take the course.
