This 1-Hour Protection from Sun Exposure (SST-108) course is designed for construction workers in New York City. This course provides instruction on how to identify and prevent heat-related illnesses on the workplace. Successful completion of this course counts toward the Site Safety Training (SST) card.
According to NYC Department of Buildings Local Law 196, construction workers must complete training in order to earn their Site Safety Training card. This course counts toward one hour of the required training hours.
Students in this course review important safety information on sun and heat exposure. Heat-related illnesses such as stroke and dehydration are concerns on job sites where workers are exposed to the elements, such as construction. It is important for workers to be able to recognize the symptoms of heat illness in order to protect themselves and others.
