Why Should You Attend This 1C/1D/2A/2B/2C/2D Massachusetts Hoisting License Continuing Education Course?

This 8-Hour 1C/1D/2A/2B/2C/2D Massachusetts Hoisting License Continuing Education course prepares you for the MA Department of Public Safety 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, and/or 1C, 1D Hoisting Engineers License exams allowing workers to operate front end loaders, backhoes and excavators (2A, 2B, 2C, 2D) and/or operate a hydraulic boon with no cable, industrial forklifts and all terrain lull type forklifts (1C, 1D). 

If you operate equipment in Mass that is capable of raising 10+ feet, lifting 500+ lbs., or holding over 1/4 yard of material Mass DPS requires you to be licensed.

Please Note:   This course has received approval from the Massachusetts Dept. of Public Safety, and satisfies requirements for 8 hours of continuing education toward your license renewal

Class 1 Restrictions:

The operator shall only operate the Hoisting Machinery listed on the restrictions below:

• 1C: Hoisting Machinery with hydraulic telescoping booms and any other hydraulic equipment designed for the purpose of hoisting, excluding those with wire rope hoist lines, and Hoisting Machinery listed under 1D
• 1D: General industrial warehouse Fork Lift equipment primarily used in indoor facilities

Class 2 Restrictions:

The operator shall only operate the Hoisting Machinery listed on the restrictions below:

• 2A: All crawler and rubber tired excavators and backhoes, and Hoisting Machinery listed under 2B, 2C, and 2D
• 2B: Combination loader/backhoe machines and Hoisting Machinery listed under 2C and 2D
• 2C: Front end loaders and Hoisting Machinery listed under 2D
• 2D: Compact Hoisting Machinery with a gross vehicle weight not exceeding 10,000 pounds, excluding Class 1, Class 3, and Class 4
