This NYC 8-Hour Site Safety Coordinator course is a shortened version of the 40-Hour Site Safety Manager Course designed for experienced professionals interested in registering as Construction Superintendents, Site Safety Managers, or Site Safety Coordinators with the NYC Department of Buildings.
Who Should Take this 8-Hour Site Safety Coordinator Course?
1.Individuals who wish to apply for the Site Safety Coordinator license. Licensed Architects or Engineers, or an applicant who has 5 years of construction supervisory experience (including 3 years supervising major buildings), can take this 8-Hour Site Safety Coordinator course. All other construction professionals need to take the 40-Hour Site Safety Manager course, and should verify the work experience requirements before applying with NYC DOB.
2. Licensed Architects or Engineers in NY who are applying for the Site Safety Manager designation can take this 8-Hour course in lieu of the 40-Hour Site Safety Manager course.

NYC Department of Building Requirements
A Certified Site Safety Manager must be onsite at all construction or demolitions of major buildings that are 15 or more stories or 100,000 square feet or greater. Exam Fee: $ 350. Registration Fee: $ 300. Renewal Fee: $ 150. Late Renewal Fee: $ 50. Registration Term: 3 Years. A Certified Site Safety Coordinator must be onsite at all construction or demolition of major buildings that are 10 to 14 stories. Registration Fee: $100. Renewal Fee: $50.Registration Term: 1 Year. A Registered Construction Superintendent is required at new buildings and buildings under demolition nine stories and below. Registration Fee: $100. Renewal Fee: $50. License Term: 3 Years. All three certifications require the 8-hour Site Safety Manager Refresher course prior to expiring to renew.
