This Cargo Securement Flatbeds course covers the requirements of the cargo securement standard as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Specifically, students will learn about the compliance, safety and accountability implications of cargo securement violations in order to reduce their overall violations in the Safety Measurement System (SMS). This course will instruct upon best practices and personal safety in a variety of situations and different types of cargo so that students are prepared to meet the requirements of the governing body.

Drivers and truckers who transport cargo have a unique duty to ensure the safe delivery of their items as well as the safety of others on the road. Too often, improper securement of flatbeds cause accidents and cost thousands of dollars in ruined product, wasted time, and insurance claims. Most cargo securement violations can be fixed if drivers are aware of what to look out for and how to prepare their flatbeds. This course covers all of this and more so that students will meet the requirements of the cargo securement standard.
