This Distracted Driving course instructs commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers and others who drive as part of their profession on the dangers of distracted driving. Specifically, students will learn about different types of driving distractions and how to prevent collisions from their own inattention as well as the inattentiveness of other motorists.
Distracted driving is responsible for an alarming number of vehicle collisions and fatal car accidents every day. The issue has become so bad that some states have resorted to passing laws against texting while driving- but this form of distraction is only one of the many types of distracted driving that exist. Even with laws in place, other motorists continue to drive without paying full attention to the road which can put other people in danger. It's not enough for a driver to be cognizant of their own distracted driving- drivers need to know how to recognize distracted behaviors in other motorists and the safety techniques to avoid accidents.
