This Emergency Action Plan course is designed to teach students how to create and implement protocols for emergency situations including hazardous waste, chemical agents and natural disasters. The course draws upon applicable lessons from major crises in order to get students to think critically and efficiently. Based on Local Law No 26 of 2004, R404-02, this course is tailored for individuals interested in Emergency Action Plan Director certification.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will obtain a certificate of completion.

As per section §113-03 of the NYC Fire Safety Department Rules, candidates for the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) Certificate of Fitness (C of F) are required to complete an Emergency Action Plan course. Applicants have 1 year from the date of completing the course to apply to take the computer based Z-59 exam. If they do not apply within a year they are required to retake the entire course.
NEW – Upcoming FDNY Transition Deadlines:
By September 3, 2018, or the date of expiration of existing C of F, all current and active FSD will also be required to have successfully completed the 7-hour Emergency Action Plan (EAP) training course.
By March 1, 2019, or the date of expiration of existing C of F, all current and active F-85 must have registered and received a passing grade on the computerized EAP C of F examination to receive their Temporary Fire Life Safety Director C of F (T-89). The T-89 will be converted to the F-89 when the candidate successfully passes the EAP on-site practical examination.
By March 1, 2020, ALL building owners must have a Fire and Life Safety Director (either F-89 or T-89 C of F) in place.
Note: Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities including hands-on demonstrations and the final exam. Student must obtain a score of 70% or higher to receive course completion certificate.
Students who do not successfully pass the exam a second time will have the option of registering for another Fire Safety Director training course at a reduced price of 50% of the original course fee. Students must contact TSCTA to schedule and pay for the retake class within 6 months following the original class date. After 6 months, students will be required to pay the full course fee.
Make-up time is not permitted for this training course. Students who miss time from any individual session must reschedule and attend the full training course.
