In the OSHA 511 Standards for General Industry course, students will learn the OSHA Standards, policies and procedures applicable to general industry. This includes a special emphasis on hazard awareness and prevention, in which students will learn the most common health and safety risks present in general industry and the appropriate policies and procedures to reduce them.
OSHA 511 is one of the prerequisites to become an instructor for the 10-hour or 30-hour OSHA General outreach safety courses.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to define general industry terms, identify hazards, locate and enact the appropriate OSHA General Industry Standards and support an ongoing safety and health program.
