This 2-hour OSHA Fire Watch Training course is designed to teach workers how to correctly carry out fire watch tasks, such as site assessment, fire prevention, and monitoring during hot industrial operations. This course complies with OSHA's shipyard fire safety standard. Fire watchers must be trained in the use of fire extinguishing equipment and keep it readily available. In the event of a fire, they should be aware of the alarm systems. The fire watch must keep a look out for fires in all exposed areas and attempt to extinguish them only when they are clearly within the capacity of the available equipment, or else signal the alarm. A fire watch must be kept for at least half an hour after welding or cutting operations have been completed in order to detect and extinguish any smoldering fires.
