How long does it take to go through the content of the course?
There are 8 hours worth of content for the online course, which you can complete at your own pace prior to taking your exam. The in-person session includes 2 hours of review as well.

How long do I have access to the online content?
The access code will be active for 30 days from the purchase date. You can review the content as many times as you’d like during that time period.

How to I access the online portion of the course?
After you register, you will receive an email with your access code and directions to use the program within 1 business day.

What if I fail the exam after taking your course? You can re-activate your access code for an additional 30 days at no extra cost to review the content again. Please send an email with proof of failure of the exam and you will be sent directions to enable your account for an additional 30 days. ServSafe allows you to take the exam a second time within 60 days of failure. You will need a proctor for the exam. Proctors charge for this service.

Is the ServSafe Certification Exam difficult?
The content that you need is in this online course. If you study the content thoroughly and reach "scholar" level for each module, you should have no problem passing the exam.

How many questions are on the real ServSafe Certification Exam and what is the passing rate?
There are 90 multiple choice questions on the ServSafe exam. A score of 75% is needed to pass the ServSafe exam.

How long is the ServSafe certification for?
ServSafe certification is good for 5 years.

What if I took a class a few years ago, do I still need to take a course or could I just test?
It is recommended that you take a course because some of the regulations have changed with the updated Food Code. ServSafe re-did their exam in 2013 to reflect these changes.
