This Colorado Qualified Preparer of Stormwater Management Plan Online course combines teaches students how to prepare management plans in compliance with the State of Colorado's Discharge Permit System. Students will focus on preventing pollution through runoff and learn erosion and sediment control techniques.
As a QPSWMP, students will receive dual credential as a Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS) so that they will also be able to inspect and maintain stormwater compliance on construction sites.
Upon completing the course, participants will be able to identify the components and framework of the Colorado Discharge Permit System: Stormwater Discharges Associated with Construction Activity; describe the proper installation and maintenance of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs); identify the steps to inspect construction sites and identify BMP breaches; and understand the report and documentation necessary to communicate processes across the project participants to stay in compliance.
This course consists of six (6) modules with corresponding exams and takes approximately 18.5 hours to complete. Participants can save their progress and resume at their convenience as the course is provided fully online. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate valid for two (2) years. This course also qualifies for 18.5 Professional Development Hours.
