In this IICRC Fire Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT)/Odor Control Technician (OCT)/Trauma Crime Scene Technician (TCST) course, the FSRT section will teach students how to manage the project site practically while adhering to technical protocols, and how this affects job price. This course's OCT section will teach students how to deal with odors caused by a variety of sources, including chemical sources such as fuel oil spills or volatile organic compounds, biological sources such as mildew, decomposition, and smoke damage, and combustion sources such as fire. The TCST component of this course will go over the processes to follow as well as the safeguards that must be followed in such a situation.
Topics to be Covered Include:
Detection process and philosophy of odor control, chemical alternatives and applications, sanitization, principles of trauma and crime scene cleanup, biocide and antimicrobial technology, waste or sharps containment and disposal, verification of cleanliness, using the right chemicals and procedures, maintaining job site safety, and cleaning and manipulating contents.
