This IICRC Fire Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT)/Odor Control Technician (OCT)/Trauma Crime Scene Technician (TCST) course is specifically designed to provide technicians with the fire, odor, and trauma training that they require. The FSRT portion of this course focuses on the technical process for effectively restoring an environment that has been affected by fire and smoke. Equipment, chemical alternatives, applications, odor control theory, olfaction and odor, odor sources, and detection procedures are all covered in the OCT portion of this course. In the course's TCST portion, students will review the procedure for examining and looking into crime and trauma scenes that may contain blood and other potentially contagious materials.

In this IICRC Fire Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT)/Odor Control Technician (OCT)/Trauma Crime Scene Technician (TCST) course, the FSRT section of the course will teach students how to manage the project site practically while adhering to technical protocols, and how this affects job price. This course's OCT section will teach students how to deal with odors caused by a variety of sources, including chemical sources such as fuel oil spills or volatile organic compounds, biological sources such as mildew, decomposition, and smoke damage, and combustion sources such as fire. The TCST component of this course will go over the processes to follow as well as the safeguards that must be followed in such a situation.

There will be an exam on Days 2, 3, and 5 of this course. Exam fees for the IICRC are $80.00 for each exam. Each retest costs $80.00. These costs are paid online to the IICRC before the start of the course and are in addition to the registration fee.
