Why Should You Take This Lead Inspector Initial Course?
This Lead Inspector Initial training provides information for individuals who perform lead-based paint inspections and/or clearance examinations on abatement and renovation projects. This course will teach the legal and technical issues and obligations facing inspectors when inspecting for lead hazards.
This class will teach individuals how to determine whether or not lead-based paint or other lead hazards are present in sufficient quantities to require abatement according to regulatory guidelines.

Requirements for Successful Course Completion:
- Ability to Read, Understand and Speak English Language
- Attend entire course in consecutive days
- Pass a written, multiple choice exam
This course is provided by an accredited trainer that is approved by the necessary EPA and/or Authorized-State lead program, as required based on the course location.
It is the participant's responsibility to verify that the course they attend will be accepted in any other state(s) where you will be performing work, and to process any required paperwork that may be necessary.
Your state may have detailed education, experience and application processing requirements to qualify for licensing in the Lead field. Students are responsible to verify these requirements prior to registering for a course. There are numerous reciprocity agreements with EPA and other states with authorized lead-based paint programs. Your state may accept training for certification programs from those training providers accredited by EPA or other state authorized programs. Because reciprocity agreements are subject to change, it is strongly recommended that you contact your state's lead program before registering.

| Refresher Training | When you pass the state examination you will receive a cerfication card in the mail that is valid until the next March 31st. After that an annual fee is due by March 31 of each year. You will receive a letter and renewal application from the Department each year as a reminder. After fees are paid, you will receive a new card. Every 3 years, you must take a one‐day refresher course and re‐take the state exam. |

I had a great experience at ETC! The Instrutor and staff were great. My instructor (Brian) was very professional and attentive. He was able to explain the material in different ways so everyone had a solid understanding. It was more personal than other training I've had, where they just present the information required. I had zero knowledge in the subject and being in a class where most had some knowledge or hands on experience at first felt overwhelming. I was quickly brought up to par with the rest and even signed up for an additional class onsite to add an additional certification. Now I'm on the way to pass EPA test with confidence and the knowledge to back it up! The extra material is extremely valuable to my one man operation, being able to pass up some of the legwork of just starting out in the field. It was clear that ETCs goal was to go above and beyond to provide quality training that would result in better performance in the field. I cannot be more happy with my experience. Thanks ETC!
