The SARA Title III (the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, or EPCRA) requires you to inform your community of the hazardous chemicals that are stored or used at your site, as well as releases of these chemicals to the environment. This course provides you with a complete understanding of what this law requires as well as detailed instructions on how to ensure your facility is in compliance.
Who Should Attend This Training?
Personnel responsible for environmental compliance and hazardous chemical reporting for their site.
In this interactive course, you will learn:
- How to determine if you must notify the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) of the name of your Emergency Coordinator
- Who must submit SDSs or lists of hazardous chemicals to the LEPC, state, and fire department
- Who must submit Tier II inventory reports, what chemicals trigger the reports, and how to complete and submit them
- Who must complete Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) Form R and Form A reports, what chemicals trigger the reports, what must be on TRI reports, and how to submit them
- Exemptions for articles, de minimis concentrations, structural components, and laboratories
- Which releases trigger immediate notifications and how to report them
- What to do if you failed to file SARA reports or need to update past reports
