Why Should You Take This Mold Inspection and Assessment Course?
Are you interested in learning about what it takes to conduct a mold inspection prior to a mold remediation project, and how to become a mold inspection professional?
This 3-day intensive course will address the procedures and protocols involved in inspecting and assessing a building for mold growth.
Participants will gain a strong understanding of building construction and HVAC issues that facilitate microbial growth. This course will review various types of microbial contaminants, sampling strategies, collection and handling, and data interpretation.
Students will be provided with extensive hands-on experience using sampling equipment, to train on the different procedures for collecting contaminants. The course will also cover industry guidelines and local regulations, including the District of Columbia mold regulations for rental properties.
The course will conclude with a written examination.
Successful completion of this course is recognized by the District Department of Energy and Environment (DC DOEE) for application for licensure.

More About This Course
A Laboratory Director from an AIHA accredited laboratory will advance the students' understanding of microbial contaminants, collection, handling, and analysis of specimens and data interpretation. Sampling equipment will be used in hands-on practical exercises to familiarize students with the various procedures for collecting microbiological contaminants.
The course will conclude with a case study whereby students will investigate a building scenario with potential mold contamination, develop assessment protocols, and analyze data from the lab.
