This IICRC Odor Control Technician (OCT) course covers olfaction and odor, odor sources, detection process, theory of odor control, equipment, chemical options and applications. The student will learn how to address odors caused from biological sources such as decomposition, urine contamination, and mold, combustion sources such as fire and smoke damage, and chemical sources such as fuel oil spills or volatile organic chemicals.

Continuing Education: The IICRC continuing education program seeks to encourage registrants to actively participate in their industry through conventions, workshops and specialized training with continuing education and by sharing knowledge with others in the industry. IICRC-certified cleaning and restoration technicians face many changes in their field and require 14.0 CE credit hours every four years.
Please Note: Failure to meet continuing education credit requirements will result in suspension of that particular status until the requirement is met and all current course requirements are met.

Instructor Mike Sciullo has a BA in Education from the School of Education University of Pittsburgh. He combines his passion for teaching with his expertise in cleaning and restoration to provide a unique educational experience. Mike is an industry veteran with over 40 years experience. He has been teaching as an approved IICRC instructor since 1983. Mike was one of the first ten instructors who helped write the original standards, manuals, and tests. Mike's schools are all about educating his students and not selling a particular brand name or product.
